The recession may be hitting the world, but that doesn't stop anyone from admiring expensive goods. Here are some of the world's most expensive dresses.

This dress with 325 gold Austrian coins (lent to the designer by the Austrian Mint Office), weighs 22 Kgs, and costs 26,900,000 JPY (233,000 U.S. dollars). The dress was designed by the Bunka Fashion College, and the coins were sown onto the cloth on the college campus under strict watch of the teachers.


The Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra, unveiled by Victoria's Secret in 2008 has near 4000 jewels sown on. The jewels include rubies and black diamonds worth a 100 carats. The cost of this bra is $5million.


Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg hosted the 1999 Oscars dressed as Queen Elizabeth I. The dress she wore was on loan from The House of Harry Winston and had diamond jewelry worth $40 million.


This wedding dress, a result of the combined efforts of designer Renee Strauss and jeweler Martin Katz, is made of 150 carat diamond jewelry. It costs $12 million.

Some of the world's rarest diamonds are on this bikini, including a 51-carat, pear-shaped diamond, a 30-carat emerald cut, a pair of 15 carat rounds and a pair of eight carat pear shaped ones. The bikini costs $30 million.

Singer Samantha Mumba at the premiere of 'Spiderman 2' wearing another of the world's most expensive outfits. This thematic outfit, designed by Scott Henshall was made specially for this occasion using wedcup diamonds. According to reports, "They were woven into the dress which was spun into a spider's web design over the singer's stomach."

Swedish shirtmakers Eton brought out the world's most expensive dress shirt on the occasion of their 80th anniversary. The shirt is made of the finest Egyptian cotton and has studs and cufflinks encrusted with diamonds. The shirt costs a little more than $45,000.
